The new location will operate starting 3rd of July 2017 in MAITREYA TEMPLE – Shi Yanjun Sports & Culture Exchange Center located on the Jinping Mountain, Maitreya Temple, Mile City.

Maitreya Temple offered us a great begging in Yunnan Province. In August 2017, we have become part of the World Federation of Chan Meditation under the Shaolin Temple Medical Center. In November 2017, we have become part of the Meihua Culture Association under the Chinese Ministry of Culture.

As for the new developments of the Academy, Shifu Shi Yanjun together with Shifu Shi Yanyi took over the Dong Hua Temple in Luxi County (30 km away from Maitreya Temple) to develop the biggest International Kung Fu, Medical and Cultural Center. The new Temple is not only of outstanding beauty but offers our students excellent advantages. The training center is located in the mountains, surrounded by pine forest and benefits for its own mountain water. On the ground there is a big orchard with many fruit trees which students can eat when they are ripe. We intend to grow on the Temple's land our own vegetables and small animals which will ensure we eat all fresh and organic.

The Temple has 3 parts: Buddhist, Taoist and Confucianism. Also benefits of two eating areas: one in the Taoist area (where we can serve meat) and Buddhist area (where we serve only vegetarian dishes).

Training Contents

Kung Fu training at Songshan Shaolin Traditional Wushu Academy includes Warm up, Kung Fu Basics, Power stretching and Flexibility, Acrobatics, Power training and Endurance, Shaolin Kung Fu, Sanda & Sparring, Take downs, Wing Chun, Qin Na, Mei Hua Quan, Ba Gua, Tai Ji, Qigong, Hard Qigong and Meditation. The training is specialized to suits both group and individual needs.

Shaolin Kung FU
the primary aim of training Shaolin kung fu is to develop life healthy habits and personal discipline. There are some traits of the monks which are passed into the disciples: to be considerate, courteous, brave, righteous, diligent, loyal, develop clarity and learn how to solve problems.

The most important part of the training in Shaolin Kung Fu are the BASICS training. They represent the foundation of your STANCES and FORMS (TAOLU). Only a student with strong basics will be able to develop his KUNG FU at the HIGHEST level.

The Forms in Kung Fu mean a set of movements. Forms can be performed with empty hand called Fist Forms (Combat Skills / Quán) or with Weapons. Shaolin Forms are short and the moves are linear.

The 18 weapons of Shaolin Kung Fu are: rope dart, double tiger hook swords, double hammers, battle axe, snake halberd, gwan dao, twin broadswords, double edged sword, Chinese spear, chain whip, double daggers, double crutches, Shaolin staff, tiger fork, rattan shield, single butterfly sword and three section staff.

You will develop your technique through gradual progression. In the same time your body must become stronger. This is the first step in order to be able to apply a good technique. You will improve if you practice the techniques in the same time with developing your body by doing FLEXIBILITY exercises (stretching and power stretching), ENDURANCE training, STRENGTH and POWER training.

Applications always follow the techniques. You must prepare your mind in the same time. In the class we explain the APPLICATIONS for each move in the form, no matter if is for fist forms or with weapons. Only by understanding the applications you can improve your forms to a higher level.

DUILIAN (Sparring Sets)
Duilian means when you practice the forms in pairs so you can perform it as a COMBAT form. Each form can be practiced in pairs. You can learn to perform in pairs the Fist Forms or forms with weapons. Some advanced students can learn to perform Duilian using different weapons for example T-Cane against Spear.

Martial Arts have been created primarily for health and total control of the body and mind. In our days is more important than ever to have a healthy mind and body. Through practice we learn to PROTECT ourselves from useless and negative thoughts and unhealthy habits by extending our lifespan. The Qi is not limited by age or body. It is used mostly for its healing properties.

Sanda Program
Sanda is the term used for Chinese Boxing (Kickboxing) and represents a Self- Defense and Combat Sport. Has been developed for the military and evolved into a combat sport. It combines elements of Kung Fu, Grappling and Self-Defense techniques. By practicing this style, you can also attain good health, fitness and well –being.

Each training plan for learning Sanda will follow the structure of Sanda basic skills, Equipment works, Reactions, Take downs,Free Fights (Sparing) and health benefits training.

Qin Na (Hold and Grip Techniques)
Qin Na means hold and grip in order to lock the joint. In translation Qin means to catch and Na means to hold and control. It is a fighting (self -defense) technique where you can use a holding and gripping sequence to annihilate the attacker from further attack without producing unnecessary harm.

The class teaches the famous 72 Shaolin Qin Na techniques. Qin Na techniques are excellent for close in and grappling range and will round out your fighting skills. Since fighting occurs at long, medium, close and grappling range, a fighter needs to be well versed in all these aspects so as to not have any loopholes an opponent can take advantage of. The effective application of Qin Na techniques requires repeated practice with different partners and a thorough knowledge of the human muscular, skeletal and nervous systems.

Meihua Quan aims to train the body and mind, improve the ability to attack and defense, cure disease, develop compassion, inspirational thought and wisdom. Training the body and mind has advantages such as healing illnesses, make a stronger body, prolong life, broaden the mind, develop discipline, induce a state of well being, improve internal and external Qi.

Training in attack and defense techniques are unique for Meihua Quan in comparison with other schools of boxing and consists of a combination of grabbing, locking, tumbling and boxing used in actual combat.

Qigong (Chi Kung)
The terminology of Qigong is formed of two parts: Qi (energy) and Gong (work, practice). The focus of the exercises practices is on developing the Qi. The purpose of practicing Qigong is to increase the vitality of the body by combining the mind, body and the Qi (vital force). You can practice still or moving Qigong such:
