School Introduction

The Yangshuo Traditional Tai Chi School is located in the beautiful area of Yangshuo, Guangxi Province, China. The school is in a genuine Qing dynasty house in a small farming village at the entrance to the famous Yu-long scenic area.  The school offers training to all levels of students from those wishing to take their first step into learning Tai Chi with no previous knowledge. And those looking for a chance to refine and study under true Tai chi masters in China in a traditional old school environment.

The school was established in 2012 by Master Wu Heng Dong (Kim Wu) and Wu YuPing. No matter man, woman, old, young, strong or weak, anyone can obtain skill and benefit practicing Tai Chi. The main focus of the school is to develop skills in Chen Style Tai chi , Qi Gong and Pushing Hands and weapons (staff, sword, broad sword and fan).The school also teaches Yang Style and competition forms include 24, 42 Sword, 42 (Chen, Yang, Wu, Wŭ and Sun).


   

 

Masters Wu
Masters Wu Heng Dong was born in July 1979, a native of Fang Cheng Gang, in Guangxi province. He graduated from the Guangxi National College of Health and Physical Education. He holds a level 6 in tai chi and obtained a Wushu and Tai Chi Coach Certification of China (Grade 1, First Degree).

Master Wu is the co-founder and headmaster of the school. He has won many gold medals in the domestic and international Taijiquan, sword competition. He specializes in teaching: Chen Style Taijiquan; Taiji theory; Tai Chi internal strength; Pushing hands Grappling; Weapons; Self-defense; Wushu (Kungfu); Master Wu has taught over 3000 students in different ages, different colors, different countries from between 4 – 88 years old over the last 15 years.

 

 

 


Master Ping

Master Wu Yu Ping is from Jieyang city Guangdong province. He started his training at age of 9 and studied with many famous Tai Chi teachers include Lin Jianxing, Wang Fujing and Xu Yakui. He now holds a level 6 in Tai Chi and have been teaching Tai Chi and Qi Gong over last 10 years at the Yangshuo Traditional Tai Chi School. 
 
Master Ping has entered many competitions and has won 18 gold medals. He is also proud to have received a certificate of excellence in coaching, from the Guangdong Sports Center; due to his students’ success in competition. He is often invited to present tai chi and qigong workshop in China and abroad.

 


Available Programs and Courses

1 to 1 Class
One on One class can be perfect for those looking to refine their Tai Chi with a true master. Students will receive excellent support and advice in improving your form and technique and can opt for specialist area’s to focus your time on improving and mastering certain forms not covered in general training

2 Hours Introductory Class
This two hours introductory class is perfect for those visiting Yangshuo and wishing to get a better understanding of what Tai Chi is and what it could offer you. This class gives a nice overview of Tai Chi including some basic form practice and ideas of theory and Tai Chi culture. This class can make a great start to the day for those wishing to continue on into the Yu-long scenic area on a superb bike ride, refreshed and full of energy.

Class Time: 9am to 11am

2 Days Introductory Class
This 2 day tai chi introductory course is perfectly suited for those looking to get a more in depth feel for Tai chi and offers 8 hours of tuition spread over two full days. The course includes basic form practice as well as an introduction to meditation and Qi-Gong. Staying at the school over night offers a great chance to spend time with our masters and other students drinking tea and learning more about the culture that has developed around tai chi in a relaxed environment.

Study Contents: 18 Yang Style Form and 24 Simplified Form, Meditation and Qigong
Class Time: 9am to 11am / 3pm to 5pm Monday to Friday

 

 

1 Week Beginner Course
This course allows time for a good introduction to meditation and Qi-gong and the opportunity to stay at the school for a full week allows you to truly immerse yourself for a short time in the culture of tai chi as well having more time to discuss the theory with the other students and get into more in depth discussions with the masters on all aspects tai chi and life.

Study Contents: 18 Chen Style Form, Meditation and Qigong
Class Time: 9am to 11am / 3pm to 5pm Monday to Friday

2 Weeks Tai Chi Course
Spend 2 weeks at the school can become a life altering experience which may set you on you on the path of tai chi for the rest of your life. This 2 weeks tai chi course offers 40 hours of tuition, lesson from Monday to Friday, with 4 days free time giving you the opportunity to relax and travel in and around the area. The course will fully cover the Chen style 18 form  and Yang 24 form as well as giving you the option to put time aside to develop your skills in qi-gong or meditation.

Study Contents: 18 Yang Style Form and 24 Simplified Form, Meditation and Qigong
Class Time: 9am to 11am / 3pm to 5pm / Monday to Friday

4 Weeks Tai Chi Course (1 month)
Spending a full month at the school can become a life altering experience which may set you on you on the path of tai chi for the rest of your life. This one month tai chi course offers 80 hours of tuition, lesson from Monday to Friday, with 8 days free time giving you the opportunity to relax and travel in and around the area. The course will fully cover the Chen 18 and Yang 24 form as well looking at the full 72 Chen style form for further study. Qi-gong and meditation are also provided in this course.

Study Contents: 18 Yang Style Form and 24 Simplified Form, Meditation and Qigong
Class Time: 9am to 11am / 3pm to 5pm Monday to Friday



8 Weeks Tai Chi Course (2 months)

Spending a full month at the school can become a life altering experience which may set you on you on the path of tai chi for the rest of your life. This one month tai chi course offers 80 hours of tuition, lesson from Monday to Friday, with 8 free weekends free time gives you the opportunity to relax and travel in and around the area. The course will fully cover the Chen 18 and Yang 24 form as well looking at the full 72 form as well as giving you the option to put time aside to develop your skills in qi-gong or meditation.

Study Contents: 18 Yang Style Form and 24 Simplified Form, 72 Chen Form, Meditation and Qigong
Class Time: 9am to 11am / 3pm to 5pm Monday to Friday


12 weeks Tai Chi Course (3 months)

Learning for a full 3 months at the school will set you fully on your life long journey into tai chi, being able to devote yourself to your training for such a period will give you all the knowledge you need to continue your own personal training outside of the school with confidence knowing that your core knowledge of the form is good enough to improve naturally and able to look at other forms with a solid understanding of its origins.

Study Contents: 18 Yang Style Form, 24 Simplified Form, 72 Chen style Form, Meditation and Qigong
Class Time: 9am to 11am / 3pm to 5pm Monday to Friday

   

 

Accommodation and Meals

The school has a limited amount of accommodation, basic single/double bed private rooms, and also private single/double bed rooms with en suite bathrooms and also a bigger room for family with two double beds. All rooms are clean and retain the authentic feel of the school. The basic single private rooms have a share bathroom (western toilet) and shower facilities.

The school also has a Tea and TV room with DVD player. Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and throughout the building. There is also a washing machine available in free of charge. School offers 3 meals a day with mixed or meat and vegetable dishes.

 

 


   

Environment and Facilities

Staying at the school can be a great choice if you really want to immerse yourself of a traditional Tai chi school environment, It gives you the opportunity to not only learn more about Tai Chi in a relaxed and passive way, but to also spend social time with the teachers and other students, further encouraging your studies and understanding of tai chi theory.

To help you enjoy your stay and explore the area we also have a limited number of bikes which are free to use at any time, We can also arrange scooter/mountain bike hire and private guides if you wish to go out exploring the area, also we have different facilities around the school like swimming pool, restaurants and Coffee shops and a great massage shop just in front of our school.
